Scripture Anchor
“There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” Proverbs 14:12 KJV
Some wrong decisions don’t look wrong when you are making them. They look reasonable, practical, and necessary.
Sometimes they even look like the only option available. That is what makes compromise dangerous.
We tend to think we will recognize it immediately because it will arrive looking like obvious disobedience.
Not always.
Sometimes compromise comes with a very convincing explanation such as:
● “Under the circumstances…”
● “Just this once…”
● “I don’t really have another choice…”
● “God knows my heart…”
And before long, we are no longer asking: “Is this right?”
We are asking: “Can I justify it?”
There is a difference.
Not every reasonable option is a righteous option.
Before you make that decision, don’t only ask whether it makes sense. Ask whether it agrees with what God has already said. Because, when Scripture has settled the matter, circumstances do not have authority to rewrite it.
Remember: If you have to keep explaining why something wrong is necessary, your explanation may already be warning you.
Warfare Prayer
Father, thank You for wisdom that sees beyond what merely appears reasonable.
Sharpen my discernment and expose every argument I have created to make disobedience acceptable.
I reject convenient compromise and every attempt to negotiate what Your Word has settled.
I declare that my decisions will be governed by truth and directed by wisdom.
When reasonable and righteous part company, I choose righteous.
In the matchless name of Jesus Christ, Amein.
Shalom,
Hephzibah Christly
