PREACH JESUS

Today’s #Snippet

Scripture Anchor:

“Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.” Acts 8:35 KJV

Apostolic Insight:

The Ethiopian had questions, but Philip gave him Jesus. What a beautiful picture of evangelism.

When Philip encounters a man reading Scripture, He asks: “Understandest thou what thou readest?” The man answers honestly: “How can I, except some man should guide me?”

Philip listens. The man asks a question, and Philip begins where the man is. He “preached unto him Jesus.” Philip did not make himself the center, nor did he turn the encounter into a demonstration of how much theology he knew. Neither did he  humiliate the man for not understanding. Instead, He guided him to Christ.

There are people around us asking questions, and some of the questions will be awkward, some may reveal misunderstanding, while others may even challenge what we believe.

We do not need to fear sincere questions.

Listen, understand what the person is asking, open the Scriptures responsibly, and keep finding the road that leads to Jesus. Our objective is not merely to win the conversation; we want the person to encounter Christ.

Ponder This:

When discussing faith, am I more concerned with proving my position or helping someone see Jesus?

Declaration:

Jesus Christ will remain central to my witness.

I receive wisdom to listen, answer, explain, and point people toward Him.

#PrayerOfAgreement

Father, thank You for the grace to lead people to Christ. Make me a faithful witness, and sensitize my ears to hear the questions people are truly asking.

Give me wisdom in the Scriptures and humility in conversation, and keep me from unnecessary arguments and spiritual performance.

When You give me opportunity, help me to open my mouth and faithfully preach Jesus. In the matchless name of Jesus Christ, Amein.

Shalom,

Hephzibah Christly
