Scripture Anchor:
“And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation.” 2 Corinthians 5:18 KJV
This is our Year of Supernatural Divine Intervention, and the theme for this 4th quarter is: SPIRITUAL SELF-CARE
During October, our journey through Spiritual Self-Care taught us to Steward the Vessel.
We examined our rest, bodies, thoughts, emotions, relationships, responsibilities, limitations, attention, and dependence upon God. But biblical self-care was never intended to make us increasingly preoccupied with ourselves. God restores us so that we can continue walking with Him and serving others faithfully.
And now the direction turns outward.
There are people around us who need more than our observations about what is wrong with the world. They need the Gospel to know that Jesus Christ saves, they need to hear that forgiveness is available, and that reconciliation with God is possible.
They need believers whose lives make Christ believable because our character agrees with our conduct and message. Jesus did not send His disciples into the world merely to identify darkness; He sent them to carry light.
We will not minimize sin, nor redefine righteousness, or remove repentance from the Gospel. But neither will we become so occupied with announcing what sinners are doing wrong that we forget to tell them what Christ has done to save them.
This month we return our attention to one of the Church’s oldest and greatest assignments: Soul-winning.
We the Church we are assigned to win souls, not to win arguments, or to collect evidence against a fallen world. Neither are we “called out” to demonstrate superiority, but to WIN SOULS.
November will call us again to the ministry of reconciliation: to pray for the lost, see people through the eyes of Christ, speak truth in love, share our testimony, proclaim salvation, and live in such a way that our conduct does not contradict our message.
We have cared for the vessel. Now let the vessel carry something worth giving away. Carry the Good News to your world of influence.
#PrayerOfAgreement
Father, thank You for bringing us into another month. Turn our hearts outward again with compassion for those who do not know You.
Deliver us from indifference, self-righteousness, unnecessary contention, and spiritual pride and fill us with the courage to speak truth without compromising Your Word. Teach us to love people without approving what You call sin.
Make us faithful ministers of reconciliation, so that our words, conduct, character, and service point people toward Jesus Christ. In the matchless name of Jesus Christ, Amein.
Shalom,
Hephzibah Christly
