YOU WERE STRENGTHENED FOR SOMETHING

Today’s #Snippet

Scripture Anchor:

“And when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.”  Luke 22:32 KJV

Apostolic Insight:

God did not strengthen you merely so you could become better at taking care of yourself.  Jesus knew Peter was about to enter a difficult season: His faith would be tested, he would fail painfully, and he would need restoration.

But Jesus could already see beyond Peter’s failure.

“When thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.” In other words: Peter, what happens in you will eventually become useful beyond you.

That gives us an important place to end this month.

Throughout October we have talked about caring for the vessel: the rest, boundaries, attention. emotional honesty, relationships, the body, grief, mental overload, knowing our limits, and returning to our Source.

All of those matters, but biblical self-care must eventually turn outward. We are not becoming healthier simply so that we can spend the rest of our lives examining ourselves. God strengthens us so that we can continue walking with Him and become useful in His hands.

The wisdom you gained can help someone, just as the comfort you received can comfort someone also. The truth that stabilized you can strengthen someone, the mercy that restored you can make you gentler with someone who is struggling, and the freedom you learned to steward can become part of how you help another person find and maintain freedom. There comes a time when recovery must become readiness.

October has taught us to STEWARD THE VESSEL. Tomorrow we begin asking:

Is this strengthened vessel carrying the Good News of Jesus Christ?

Ponder This:

How can something God has strengthened, healed, corrected, or taught in me become useful to someone else?

Declaration:

What God develops within me will not terminate upon me.

I receive strength to serve, encourage, strengthen, and help others.

#PrayerOfAgreement

Father, thank You for teaching me to steward the life You have entrusted to me., and thank You for every place You have strengthened, corrected, restored, and refreshed me

Keep me from making myself the center of spiritual self-care, and turn my strength toward service. Use what You have developed within me to encourage, strengthen, and help others. I will steward the vessel and I will make the vessel available for Your purpose. In the matchless name of Jesus Christ, Amein.

Shalom,

Hephzibah Christly
