Scripture Anchor:
“How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!” Romans 10:15 KJV
That the Gospel is Good News may sound elementary. But sometimes Christians need to remember it. We live in a world where sin, brokenness, confusion, injustice, moral decline are visible. And Scripture does not ask us to pretend otherwise.
But identifying darkness is not the same thing as preaching the Gospel. A person can spend hours describing everything wrong with society and never tell anyone how to be reconciled to God. We have not been commissioned merely to become expert commentators on darkness. We have been entrusted with glad tidings of good things.
1. Jesus Christ came.
1. Jesus Christ died for our sins.
2. Jesus Christ was buried.
3. Jesus Christ rose again.
4. Forgiveness is available.
5. New birth is possible.
6. The captive can be made free.
7. The guilty can be justified.
8. The lost can be found.
9. The sinner can become a new creature in Christ.
That is our message.
Truth still confronts sin, the Gospel still calls people to repentance, Holiness still matters., and Judgment is still biblical. But the purpose is not to stand at a distance, announcing how terrible sinners are. We carry the message that tells them where salvation can be found.
This month of November we will ask ourselves some uncomfortable questions:
· When was the last time I deliberately prayed for someone who does not know Christ?
· When was the last time I shared what Jesus has done for me?
· Do unbelievers hear more from me about what I oppose than about the Saviour I love?
· Can I speak biblical truth without contempt?
· Do I see a sinner primarily as someone behaving badly, or as a soul for whom Christ died?
· And does my life make the Gospel I preach easier or harder to believe?
This month is not about developing clever evangelistic techniques. It is about recovering the heart of the assignment. Carry the Good News. Because somebody still needs to hear it.
Ponder This:
If someone knew Christianity only through my words and conduct, what would they believe the Gospel is?
Declaration:
· I am a minister of reconciliation.
· I will not be ashamed of the Gospel of Christ.
· I will speak truth without compromise and extend grace without hypocrisy.
· I will carry the Good News of Jesus Christ faithfully.
#PrayerOfAgreement:
Father, thank You for restoring within us a burden for souls. Teach us to see beyond behavior and recognize the person who needs salvation. Give us wisdom in speech, compassion in engagement, boldness in witness, and integrity in conduct.
· Keep us faithful to Your truth.
· Keep us from self-righteousness.
· Keep Jesus Christ at the center of our message.
Send us into our families, communities, workplaces, digital spaces, and daily encounters carrying the Good News. In the matchless name of Jesus Christ, Amein.
Shalom,
Hephzibah Christly
