STOP EXPLAINING EVERYTHING

Today’s #Snippet

Scripture Anchor:

“But Jesus held his peace.” Matthew 26:63 KJV

Apostolic Insight:

Peace requires accepting that everybody will not understand your decisions.

There are times when explanation is necessary. Misunderstandings can sometimes be resolved through honest conversation.

Accountability may require an answer. Love may require clarification. And there can be times when explanation becomes endless.

No matter how much you explain, they’ll remain unconvinced, and even if you explain again and again, they’ll reinterpret it also.  The more details you provide, the more objections appear.

Eventually you are no longer clarifying, but trying to obtain permission to make a decision you already know is right.

Jesus did not answer every accusation; He did not correct every false conclusion. He knew when to speak and when silence was sufficient.

We need that wisdom.

You are not responsible for controlling every opinion people hold about you. There are times when integrity requires explanation, and times when wisdom requires silence.

Discern the difference.

There is great peace in no longer believing that everybody must understand you before you can obey God.

Ponder This:

Am I explaining something because clarification is necessary or because I cannot tolerate being misunderstood?

Declaration:

●  I will speak when wisdom requires speech and remain silent when further explanation serves no useful purpose.

● My obedience does not require universal approval.

Prayer of Agreement:

Father, thank You for governing my words.

Give me humility to explain when explanation is necessary and restraint when silence is wiser.

Deliver me from the exhausting need to correct every misunderstanding.

Keep me accountable, truthful, and gracious.

Let my life bear witness where words have reached their limit.

In the matchless name of Jesus Christ, Amein.

Shalom,
