GUARD WHAT YOU CARRY
Scripture Anchor:
“Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.” Proverbs 4:23 KJV
As another week begins, we pause to remember: You carry things that require stewardship: strength, attention, time, spiritual hunger, responsibilities, relationships, and assignments.
You cannot give everything to everyone and still preserve what matters. So today, we bring what we carry before God.
LET US PRAY
Father, thank You for every resource, ability, responsibility, and assignment You have entrusted to me.
Thank You for strength and time to serve. Thank You also for the ability to think, choose, work, love, learn, pray, and grow.
With your wisdom I will steward these gifts well, and I will not spend strength everywhere.
I will stop feeding my mind on things that weaken my appetite for Your Word, and will no longer surrender my attention to every distraction demanding it.
Teach me to recognize what matters, what can wait, and to distinguish between what is urgent and what is important.
When I need rest, help me rest without guilt, if I need discipline, strengthen me to act, if I become scattered, gather my attention, and if my spiritual appetite weakens, restore my hunger for truth.
When I accept responsibilities You did not assign to me, give me wisdom to release them appropriately. And if I neglect what is mine to carry, correct me.
Father, as October draws toward its close, bring me into an honest inventory, show me what I have been protecting, what I have neglected, what deserves greater care, and what I need to release.
I will not protect dysfunction or preserve habits You are correcting, nor will I fight to keep what is hindering my growth.
I receive discernment to know what is worth keeping.
I enter this week governed by Your Word, attentive to Your wisdom, and willing to make the adjustments necessary to guard what truly matters.
In the matchless name of Jesus Christ. Amein.
PONDER THIS
If your attention, strength, and time reveal what you value, what have you been protecting most?
Guard what you carry. Steward it wisely. And prepare to examine what is truly worth preserving.
Shalom,
Hephzibah Christly #TheSpiritualWarrior #SWATS
