Scripture Anchor:

“Neglect not the gift that is in thee…”
1 Timothy 4:14 KJV

Apostolic Insight:

Humility does not require pretending that God gave you nothing. There is a difference between humility and shrinking.

Paul told Timothy plainly: “Neglect not the gift that is in thee.” Timothy apparently needed reminding that what God had placed within him required attention.

Gifts can be neglected, abilities can remain undeveloped, and opportunities can be repeatedly postponed because we feel inadequate, intimidated, or overly conscious of other people’s opinions.

Sometimes we call that humility.

It is not.

True humility does not boast about the gift, nor does it bury it. It recognizes that God entrusted this to me, therefore I am responsible for its stewardship.

Your gift does not have to resemble someone else’s, and it does not need applause to become legitimate:

●Develop it.

●Discipline it.

●Submit it to God.

●Use it responsibly.

The purpose of refinement is not to make us afraid of our capacity, it is to make our capacity safer in God’s hands.

Ponder This:

Have I neglected something God entrusted to me because I was afraid to use it?

Declaration:

● I will faithfully steward every gift God has placed within me.

● I reject both pride and false humility.

#PrayerOfAgreement:

Father, thank You for what You have entrusted to me. Forgive me where fear, comparison, or insecurity has caused neglect. Give me discipline to develop my gifts and humility to use them for Your glory rather than my recognition.
