MAKE ROOM FOR GROWTH

Today’s #Snippet

Scripture Anchor

“And he began to speak boldly in the synagogue: whom when Aquila and Priscilla had heard, they took him unto them, and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly.” Acts 18:26 KJV

Apostolic Insight:

Being useful to God requires remaining willing to learn.

Apollos was already impressive.

The Bible describes him as eloquent, mighty in the Scriptures, fervent in spirit, and diligent in teaching what he knew. Yet there was something he did not know.

Then Aquila and Priscilla came alongside him and explained the way of God more fully. Notice that Apollos did not say: “Do you know who I am?”

Apollos did not allow competence to make him unteachable. He received what he needed, and afterward became even more useful. This is one of the quiet tests of maturity.

Can we remain teachable after becoming experienced? Can someone correct an incomplete understanding without our ego taking over? Can we receive wisdom from people whose names or positions seem less impressive than ours?

Refinement protects purpose from stagnation.

The moment we decide there is nothing more to learn, we begin limiting what God can develop through us.

Ponder This

Am I still genuinely teachable in areas where I have become experienced?

Declaration

Growth remains welcome in my life.

Experience will not harden me against correction, instruction, or deeper understanding.

Prayer of Agreement:

Father, preserve a teachable spirit within me, and protect me from the pride that can accompany experience.

Send wise voices when I need correction or greater understanding, and give me humility to receive truth regardless of the vessel through which You send it.

Continue making me useful for Your purpose.

In the matchless name of Jesus Christ, Amein.

Shalom,
