HONOR YOUR SEASON

Today’s #Snippet

Scripture Anchor:

“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:” Ecclesiastes 3:1 KJV

Apostolic Insight:

What was right for an earlier season may not be right for the one you are living now.

Life, capacity, responsibilities, relationships, bodies, opportunities, assignments change. Yet sometimes we continue expecting ourselves to function exactly as we did in another season.

A parent with small children cannot arrange life exactly as before children arrived; neither can a caregiver pretend new responsibilities require no adjustment.

Someone recovering from illness may need a different pace; and a person entering later years may possess greater wisdom while having different physical capacity.

A new assignment may require releasing an old routine; and sometimes a season simply ends.

There is wisdom in recognizing that.

Spiritual self-care needs you to establish what faithfulness looks like in this new season.

Not ten years ago when life was simpler and you had different responsibilities; And definitely not according to somebody else’s season.

Now.

This is not permission to become passive: changing seasons still require discipline, courage, and obedience.

But wisdom does not demand yesterday’s capacity from today’s circumstances; there are things we should continue, adjust, begin, or graciously release.

Maturity recognizes the difference: you are not required to recreate an old season in order to prove that you are still fruitful.

It helps to ask God what faithfulness looks like here, in this experience.

Ponder This:

Am I judging myself by expectations that belonged to another season of my life?

Declaration:

I will walk wisely in my present season.

I release outdated expectations and receive grace for the responsibilities, opportunities, and capacity God has given me now.

#PrayerOfAgreement:

Father, thank You for giving me discernment concerning the season I am living.

Show me what should remain, what needs adjustment, what should begin, and what I need to release.

Deliver me from comparison with earlier versions of myself; keep me from using changing circumstances as an excuse for disobedience, and also keep me from demanding what You are no longer requiring.

I know that You are unchanging, help me understand what faithfulness looks like now.

I receive grace for this season.

In the matchless name of Jesus Christ, Amein.

Shalom,
