Scripture Anchor:
““Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.” Galatians 5:1 KJV
Some doors did not close because you failed. They closed because you finally became wise enough to shut down the access to you.
There are relationships you stopped entertaining, conversations you stopped having, arguments you stopped answering, habits you stopped excusing, environments you stopped entering and patterns you finally broke.
Do not confuse familiarity with permission to return.
One of the ways we preserve what God has worked in us is by refusing to reopen doors that wisdom taught us to close.
And sometimes the temptation to reopen them does not arrive looking dangerous.
No matter how reasonable it may sound be on your guard.
Don’t fall into that bondage again. Refuse to be sentimental about life transforming issues.
Do not forget in a hurry, the confusion, the compromise, and how long it took to regain your spiritual footing.
Forgiveness does not require restored access, neither does love require that you cancel boundaries.
And spiritual maturity does not demand that you repeatedly expose yourself to what has already proven destructive.
GUARD IT
If wisdom helped you establish a boundary, do not dismantle it simply because enough time has passed for the pain to fade. Preservation requires discernment.
Some things belong in your testimony, not back in your life.
MONDAY WARFARE PRAYER
Father, thank You for the wisdom that teaches me what to embrace and what to leave behind.
I refuse every temptation to revisit patterns, relationships, environments, and compromises from which You have brought me forward.
Strengthen my discernment where emotions are strong.
Strengthen my discipline where familiarity calls.
Strengthen my resolve where old doors attempt to reopen.
I will guard my heart.
I will honor godly boundaries.
I will not surrender present peace to yesterday’s patterns.
What wisdom has taught me to close, I will not foolishly reopen.
In the matchless name of Jesus Christ. Amein.
PONDER THIS
What have you already learned not to give access to, but occasionally feel tempted to revisit?
Guard what wisdom taught you.
