WELCOME TO OCTOBER, the month we GUARD IT

Scripture Anchor:

“Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.” Proverbs 4:23 KJV

October is the beginning of Quarter 4 themed PRESERVED

Some things cost too much to learn for us to become careless with them. You prayed, learned, were corrected, and you changed. You established boundaries, broke unhealthy patterns, learned when to speak and when to remain silent. And you became wiser about people, opportunities, decisions, and yourself.

Now comes another responsibility: Guard what has been developed in you.

We sometimes think preservation means God keeping trouble away from us. It certainly includes His keeping power. But Scripture also gives us responsibility to: Keep thy heart, Hold fast, Continue, Watch, and Abide.

The things God has done in your life, you should never casually surrender:

1. Do not reopen the doors wisdom taught you to close.

2. Do not abandon boundaries because somebody dislikes them.

3. Do not return to habits simply because enough time has passed to make you forget what they cost you.

4. Do not exchange peace for the privilege of proving a point.

5. Do not become careless with convictions that took years to develop.

As we enter the final quarter of 2026, our emphasis is:

PRESERVED.

And throughout October, one question will help to guard us: What has God developed in me that I must now become intentional about protecting?

Take inventory.

While some things need strengthening, others may need maintaining, guarding, or should need to remain closed.

Remember:

Growth that is not guarded can become ground that has to be recovered.

Welcome to October. “GUARD IT”

Shalom,

Hephzibah Christly
