Although the flood in Noah’s time was the result of Divine judgment, God didn’t forget to show mercy.
According to Bible records, when God remembered Noah, the flood waters assuaged.
Which means that God in His infinite mercy, lessened the intensity of the flood, reinforced the coping abilities of the survivors by gradually easing them into a new beginning. Read Genesis 8.
The news reports from the aftermath of Hurricane Helene are so distressing. Whole communities were wiped out and people are still missing.
God, please remember your people and grant them relief from the effect of these disasters, in Jesus’s name.
In a touching video, someone described how they could not evacuate, and watched helplessly, as the flood waters came into their home, rising quickly to their necks.
Another couple said they thought they were safe because their home was on higher ground. But they watched helplessly, as half their home went down the mountain.
Where can you go when God is unto you?
Only His mercy can protect you and prevail over his judgments.
Similarly, those in war zones described how helpless they were when bombs and bullets came at them.
Even in dire situations, God still remembered to be merciful.
Have you ever been in such a helpless situation, where you came face to face with your mortality?
Which begs the question, “Why do you care about us humans? Why are you concerned for us weaklings?” Psalms 8:CEVUK.
God loves us humans, and never gives up on us. He always seeks ways to gain our attention and help us refocus on Him: so that none will perish.
For some, it takes a near-death encounter before they can be reset and their minds renewed.
When realization hits that ONLY by DIvine intervention can they survive, then they refocus and surrender to Him.
We cannot wait to have near-death encounters before yielding to God’s will. It is too traumatic, and not worth all the losses incurred in the process.
Lesson:
It is better to learn life’s lessons by precepts and observations, than by experience: for experience is a bitter-teacher.
Let us pray :
Read the following scriptures, personalize it, identify with all who are facing disaster all over the world, and intercede for them.
*Psalms 51:1, 3-4, 8, 10, 12-13, 17-18 NLT
[1] Have mercy on me, O God, because of your unfailing love. Because of your great compassion, blot out the stain of my sins.
[3] For I recognize my rebellion; it haunts me day and night.
[4] Against you, and you alone, have I sinned; I have done what is evil in your sight. You will be proved right in what you say, and your judgment against me is just.
[8] Oh, give me back my joy again; you have broken me— now let me rejoice.
[10] Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit within me.
[12] Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and make me willing to obey you.
[13] Then I will teach your ways to rebels, and they will return to you.
[17] The sacrifice you desire is a broken spirit. You will not reject a broken and repentant heart, O God.
[18] Look with favor on Zion and help her; rebuild the walls of Jerusalem.
#MyPrayer4you:
I pray that God will remember you for good, ease off the pain of your losses, reinforce your coping abilities, send you helpers, keep you healthy, increase your support network, and work in you both to will and to do, ]His perfect will, in the matchless name of Jesus Christ ♥️
Stay Encouraged, this too has passed, and affliction will not come again.
But Reevaluate your life, and realign it with God’s perfect will.
Testimony:
We finally received word from my longtime friend Danelle, after nearly 7 days of not knowing where they are at!.
Although Hurricane Helene flooded them and took out roads, power, and homes, God spared their lives. We are thankful.
