Spiritual Warfare Series: How to Break generational curses and ancestral yokes:

Do you know that you have the responsibility to teach your children the fear of God? If you don’t, they’ll keep circling “generational issues’ and not make easy progress because sin degenerates in subsequent generations.

Below are ways to help the next generation be free from ancestral yokes and curses.

1. Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.

2. Deuteronomy 6:5-9 Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. Take to heart these words that I give you today. Repeat them to your children. Talk about them when you’re at home or away, when you lie down or get up. Write them down, and tie them around your wrist, and wear them as headbands as a reminder. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.

3. Deuteronomy 4:9-10 “But watch out! Be careful never to forget what you yourself have seen. Do not let these memories escape from your mind as long as you live! And be sure to pass them on to your children and grandchildren…Then they will learn to fear me as long as they live, and they will teach their children to fear me also.”

4. Matthew 19:13-15 One day some parents brought their children to Jesus so he could lay his hands on them and pray for them. But the disciples scolded the parents for bothering him. But Jesus said, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children.” And he placed his hands on their heads and blessed them before he left.

Be a good role model.

Humans learn by observation, precepts, imitations or experience.

Are you aware that experience is a bitter teacher?

Your bad experiences could have been avoided if you know what you know now.

Give your descendants a better life than your parents gave you- point them to God in Christ Jesus.

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.” (Proverbs 9:10)

What about Adult children and grandchildren?

The Bible points out that you still have a role to play in the lives of your adult descendants.

Research the Old Testament to know  how prophet Eli, prophet Samuel and King David suffered for neglecting to intervene in the lives of their adult children.

Read also the New Testament to see how Timothy turned out to be an exemplary man due to the training of his mother and grandmother.

Intercession/spiritual warfare prayers will help bring back your adult children and grandchildren to God.

Even if your children have cut you off, and you also have no access to your grandchildren, you can prayerfully steer them in the right direction to God by your intercession.

Never give up on your children no matter hiw much they have hurt you.

Just remember that children are a sacred trust by God.  Do your part. Look beyond their mistakes and look to the faithfulness of God to reward your diligent labor of love.

Your unrelenting anger against your children is self-destruction- both you and them are the victims of satan. The devil is using you to destroy both you and your bloodline.

SOLUTIONS:
  • Forgive your children quickly even before they apologize. (See Mark 11:25)
  • Seek peace and pursue it earnestly. (See Psalm 35:14, 1Peter 3:11)
  • Bless your children always and prioritize their spiritual well being. (See Genesis 49:1-27, Matthew 19) Those you bless are blessed and those you curse are cursed. When you bless your children, you bless yourself because children are the fruits of your body.
Declarations:

I am a fruitful vine and my descendants are blessed beyond curses and are aligned to the perfect will of God. For God is working in them both to will and to do of His good pleasures. Excellence, gratitude mentality, righteousness, love of God and other Godly characters are the hallmarks of their lives.

Surely, unlimited goodness, expounded mercies, abundant grace and supernatural favors are working for us. We are a city set on a hill and manifesting the glory and praises of God in Christ Jesus name.  Hallelujah.

Shalom from Hephzibah Christly TheSpiritualWarrior
