Spiritual Burnout: When You’re Spiritually Tired But Can’t Afford to  Quit – By Dr Hephzibah Christly – TheSpiritualWarrior

Welcome back to the battlefield.  If you’re reading this, it’s not because you’re cruising through life on a cloud of glory. It’s because you’re dragging your battered soul across no-man’s land, wondering if reinforcements are even a thing.

Guess what? They are. And spoiler alert: you’re one of them.

Burnout: The Silent Saboteur

Burnout doesn’t slam into you like a dramatic car crash. No,  it leaks into your life like a slow gas leak – invisible,  silent, deadly.  You still show up. You still lift your hands. But inside,  you feel like a muppet whose strings got cut.

Burnout makes you a professional at pretending to be “fine” when you are tired and battered (Matthew 26:41)

Hidden Warfare: Fighting Invisible Armies

The worst battles aren’t the ones you can Instagram.  They’re the ones that happen when you’re alone, trying to outwit a whisper that says you’re failing, forgotten, and finished.

Spiritual warfare is personal, petty, and brutal. It’s not swords and dragons. It’s when doubt creeps in dressed as “realism,” and discouragement parades as “self-awareness” with long, loud silences from heaven.

Prayer Fatigue: Talking to the Void

Praying sometimes feels like leaving voicemail after voicemail with no call back.

You plead, you whisper, you shout-and it feels like nothing moves except your own mounting frustration.

You’re not bad at faith.  You’re just at the part where the seeds are underground and you can’t see the roots yet.

Spiritual Depression: Heavy Fog with Your Name on It

This isn’t basic sadness.  This is spiritual claustrophobia. Like you’re locked inside your own chest. Like God forgot about you in the chaos.

You still believe God exists technically – but believing feels more like an old memory than a fire-even King David felt that way – see Psalm 77:9

How to Keep Limping Forward When Quitting Feels Righteous

Reset Without Abandoning the Battle: Rest isn’t Surrender

Even the fiercest warriors retreat to heal. Scripture says, “In quietness and in confidence shall be your strength” (Isaiah 30:15 KJV).

Schedule sacred pauses where you’re not performing for God or anyone else. Cease striving; just rest and reset. As Hebrews 4:10 reminds us,  “Those who enter God’s rest cease from their own labors

Celebrate Ridiculously Small Wins:

If you muttered one honest prayer today, that’s a full-blown victory lap.  Tiny steps are still forward motion (See Philippians 4:4)

 Outsource Prayer:

Community isn’t a cute idea; it’s  survival – Ask others to join the fight with you – Send out prayer requests (Romans 15:30).

Talk Louder Than the Lies:  Lies grow in silence. Say the truth out loud even if it feels dumb.  Especially when it feels dumb  – mke faith declarations (Ephesians 6:16)

Remember Who Signed You Up:

You didn’t volunteer for this because it sounded fun.  God chose you. He factored in your tired days, your falling-apart days, your “I’m done” days.  And He still said yes. (Hebrews 5:4)

If you’re crawling today, that’s victory. If you’re crying and still breathing, that’s defiance against the forces of darkness. You’re doing better than you think.

You’re still here. And that’s a war cry.

A Prayer of Supplication for the Spiritually Tired

Father God,

I come limping,  not leaping. I come worn, not triumphant. But I come to You, the Lover of my soul.

I lay my shattered ego at Your feet. I lay every battle I can’t name,  every ache I can’t fix, every dream that’s shriveled in the waiting.

Deliver me from the webs I didn’t see myself walking into.  Tear down every lie dressed up as wisdom, every chain wrapped in “good sense.”

Father,  speak into the caverns of my soul.  Flood the cracks with Your light.  Let the places I’ve called “dead” hear Your voice and rise.

Ignite me again, Father.  Fan the smoldering wick.  Hammer hope back into my bones.

I receive Your fire for my fatigue,  You mercy for my mess, and Your promises over my panic.  Where I have collapsed,  You will rebuild.

By Your Spirit,  I quit not.  By Your grace,  I rise again. By Your stripes, I am healed. By the resurrection power, I am vitalized.

In the matchless name of Jesus Christ,  I worship. Amein.

Day20 of the 21Days Prayer Series:

Transformation 20:Missions-Mindedness:

Christianity is a movement of people-a people of God who are mission-minded, always ready to meet needs and even preempt them.

This truth brings to mind Barnabas. Originally named Joseph (Joses), the Apostles renamed him Barnabas, which means “son of consolation” or “son of encouragement.”

The Bible tells us that, besides his servant-heart, he was a good man filled with the Holy Spirit, winning many souls to God (see Acts 4:36-37; 11:24-30).

He was there for others-morally, financially, and spiritually.

Barnabas is a model to emulate.

Not only did he support others, but he also backed the Apostles with his finances, selling his property and giving the proceeds to support the mission.

His life reminds us of the beauty of being a blessing to others.

Since transitioning from frontline missions to internet missions, I have earnestly prayed to keep the chain of support going.

I confess that I miss the fulfillment that comes from being a tangible blessing to others, and I’ve been praying for financial miracles to enable me to do even more for frontline ministers-especially those serving in rural communities.

It isn’t enough to just drop a dime in the offering basket.

We must be like Barnabas, the son of consolation-supporting ministers of the Gospel rather than judging them.

Let us pray:

Father God, thank You for every soul serving in frontline ministries around the world, as well as those ministering in local churches.

I pray for a multiplier effect upon their finances.

Protect, preserve, and provide for those who serve in hostile environments.

Touch the hearts and finances of everyone who reads this post, filling them with a strong desire to serve and bless others in the matchless name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Shalom,

Hephzibah Christly, Ph.D.

Day16 of the 21 days Prayer Series:

Subject:Transformation 16 Blessings- our children & their families.

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

Today, I want to share a personal testimony and focus our prayers on the blessings over our children and their families.

For a long time, I resisted engaging in full-time Christian ministry because I was afraid of poverty and doubted my ability to give my kids a good life.

Yet, God used dramatic circumstances to conscript me into His workforce.

When I finally yielded, He instructed me to trust Him with my children and reassured me with His Word that He would train them and grant them great peace (see Isaiah 54:13). And He has never failed.

Now, my children are grown with families of their own, and I continue to witness His faithfulness in the next generation.

This brings to mind the story of the prophet Samuel.

Samuel was the answer to Hannah’s fervent prayer for a male child (1 Samuel 1:9-28).

To fulfill her vows to God, Hannah dedicated Samuel to serve in God’s full-time ministry under Eli (1 Samuel 1:21-28).

As a young boy, Samuel became God’s chosen successor to Eli when Eli’s own righteousness faltered (1 Samuel 2:27-4:22).

Although Samuel, like all of us, faced challenges, today’s focus is on how God made him great among his peers.

#PrayerPoints4Today:

Gratitude:

Thank God for the sacred gift that your children are.

Confession & Renewal:

Identify their sinfulness and proclaim God’s faithfulness to forgive sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Self-Reflection:

Acknowledge any areas in your parenting that may leave your children vulnerable to negative spiritual influences and ask for divine wisdom to correct them.

Rededication:

Rededicate your children to God, asking for His divine protection and guidance over their lives.

Thanksgiving for Peace & Provision:

Thank God for training them and granting them peace in every area—physically, mentally, financially, economically, socially, and spiritually.

Spiritual Authority:

Command all evil spirits influencing unfavorable circumstances in their lives to leave immediately and submit to the authority of Jesus Christ.

Proclamation:

Prophesy over your children and grandchildren, declaring the outcomes you expect in the matchless name of Jesus Christ.

Day14 of the 21 days Prayer Series.

Subject: Transformation 14-Supernatural Favors.

Today, I had the privilege of ministering by video to a congregation in Pakistan.

They were all sitting on the floor. There were  lots of women and children in that congregation. A growing church.  Their pastor is so blessed.

So much love, joy and peace.

Which brings me to the Apostle Philip. He was very evangelistic. (Acts 8:26-40)

He never hesitated when Jesus called him and he went right ahead and invited Nathaniel to join with the team (see John 1:43-51)

Philip was a great soul winner and was actively involved in all the major aspects of our Lord’s earthly ministry.

After the resurrection, Philip and the other apostles were working in the desert of Samaria, when he was called out and given a special assignment to Gaza.

He was divinely appointed to meet an Ethiopian Eunuch, a high official in Queen Candace court.

Philip explained scriptures to him and later baptized him.

The next we read about Philip in scripture is about his 4 daughters who were prophetesses in Caesarea!

From the desert of Samaria to Caesarea, a wealthy town!  What a transformation,

Indeed, the Word is profitable!.

After ministering to the Ethiopian Eunuch the Queen’s treasurer,   hardship vanished for Philip.

God rewarded his faithfulness  in ministry with supernatural favors.

#MyPrayer4you:

I pray for you that your labors in the service of God  will be richly rewarded in the here and hereafter, in Jesus’s name.

You will have supernatural favors, and unlimited goodness in the matchless name of Jesus Christ.

Shalom from Hephzibah Christly, Ph.D.,#TheSpiritualWarrior, February 14th 2025

Day5 of the 21 days Prayer Series:

Subject:Restoration 5 – Deliverance from Frendnemies

Have you ever been deeply hurt  by the betrayal of an enemy disguised as a friend?

I can’t even fathom which is worse- the betrayal or the deception.

Ahitophel was such a frendnemy .  He was king David’s best friend and closest associate.

And the guy was such a gifted and anointed counselor. David trusted him so much.

However, he bore David a grudge.

Do you remember the story of the woman whom David from his porch saw having a bath?  (Refer to Day4 of the 21 Days of Prayer Series)

She was Bathsheba, Ahitophel’s granddaughter.

The scandal that resulted would have been so humiliating to Ahitophel.

Even though God disciplined King David and he married Bathsheba, Ahitophel never could forgive David.

This may be shocking, but that is how society treats ex-convicts.  They never accept that justice has been served- after jail time.

Ex-convicts are ostracized, can’t get decent jobs and are oftentimes rejected by family.

As much as we refuse to tolerate Frendnemies,  we should also learn to forgive those who wronged us, and give ex-convicts a new lease of life.

Kindly share your thoughts with me as comment or email

spiritualwarrior24@gmail.com

Do you know that Ahitophel hid his disdain for David so well that He never suspected him. Which hurt David deeply that he wrote in Psalm 41 David declared,

“…mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me….”

 And he also prayed-

“O LORD. I pray thee, turn the counsel of Ahitophel into foolishness “ (2 Samuel 25:31)

Read the story in 2 Samuel 16:23- 17:14

Let us Pray-

#PrayerPoints4Today:

*Ask that God in His infinite mercy  expose all Frendnemies in your life

*Forgive them all. So that your prayers will not be hindered, and the devil cannot take advantage of unforgiveness to complicate issues for you.

*And like David  pray,

“…O LORD, be merciful unto me, And raise me up…” Psalm 41:10

I Pray earnestly that God will supernaturally intervene to grant you favors, and overturn all  evil decisions in your favor, in the matchless name of Jesus Christ.

Day3 of the 21 Days Prayer Series:

Transformation 3 – Restoration to Greater Glory.

I had a very busy day working on the second edition and also the audio of Demons Deactivated.

I’m all emotional as I read Haggai 2:9. It speaks to the deep longing of my soul. And I receive it with a resounding AMEIN!

Perhaps you are at a very perplexing place in your life and are thinking that the good days are over.

Don’t lose your faith in God. There are better days ahead. The best is yet to come!

Which reminds me of all the challenges of Moses.

He was born at the wrong time-when infants were being murdered.

But God saved, protected and preserved him.

Next, he tried to do a good thing and ended up a murderer.

He thought his sin was well hidden but it was thrown in his face by a person he tried helping.

Can you relate with this story so far?

From the comfort of Pharaoh’s palace, he ended up a fugitive in the wilderness.

Then God remembered Moses and brought him back as a Very Important Personality (VIP)

The fugitive became the God appointed Leader of a large company of people.

What a great honor .

What a promotion!

I pray that all your painful experiences are translating to elevation, confirmation, and supernatural favors.

Every obstacle in your path is right now converting to stepping stones.

Nothing can impede your progress because protocols have been bypassed for you.

All negative issues that were pending against you, are hereby canceled.

No evil shall prosper against you. Rejoice for this is the year of Enjoying the AWESOMENESS of God, in the matchless name of Jesus Christ.  Shout hallelujah.

Day2 of the 21 Days Prayer Series.

Subject: Transformation 2 : Receive the garment of praise.

Welcome to this second day of praying.  Were you able to make time for prayers today?

In order to overcome prayer neglect, I have to discipline myself to pray at 3 hourly intervals. Which has been a great help.

Give it a try, and you will see how your circumstances will change miraculously.

Which reminds me of how mother Sarah’s circumstances changed miraculously, after a Divine visitation.

In case you are not familiar with the story, I will briefly recant it now.

Mother Sarah was the sister-bride of Father Abraham.

She was barren.

She felt utterly hopeless, and convinced father Abraham into surrogacy with her maid.

That didn’t go well because her relationship with Hagar, her maid, deteriorated.

Can you relate with how frustrated,  pained, rejected, and utterly hopeless she felt?

Well, she became abusive and the maid ran away. But later returned after she had an epiphany.

Good for her, but Sarah had to live with a pregnant maid, who made her barrenness more obvious.

Oh, how Sarah must have cried her prayers to God!

And one faithful day,  she too had a prophetic encounter that changed her life.

“And the LORD visited Sarah as he had said, and the LORD did unto Sarah as he had spoken. For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him.” (Genesis 21:1-2 KJV)

Can you even imagine how happy both of them were?

And Father Abraham named him Isaac, and  Sarah said, “God hath made me to laugh, so that all that hear will laugh with me.” (Genesis 21:6 KJV)

My prayer for you is that the spirit of heaviness can no longer torment you.

You have been set free.

Your joy shall be complete.

All obstacles are removed.

In this season of transformation:

Your walk will change,

Your laughter will change,

Your talk will change.

Your finances will change.

Your mental health will change, for God is causing All things to work together for your good.

All those  who despise you, will see God’s glory in your life, and their eyes will have respect for God, in the matchless name of Jesus Christ.

Dearly beloved friend,  stay encouraged. Look beyond your present challenges, and see 👀 the goodness of God manifesting.

Was there a time in your experience that you made a good decision which came back to bite you?

You can share it with me too by email: Spiritualwarrior24@gmail.com

God bless you.

Day1 of 21 Days Prayer Series.

Subject: Transformation

Happy new month blessed  people.

Today is a memorable day for us. We started our YouTube channel, @thespiritualwarrior2016

The uploaded video  is a series that will help you understand spiritual warfare.

Please watch it and subscribe. I hope this link works:

I am also starting a series of teachings & prayers that will greatly benefit you, if you can make tome to read them.

Did you join us during our recent 40 days season of fasting and prayers?

Well, if you did not, you may want to join these 21 day prayer sessions from today.

In Acts 3:2-8 is the story of a man with physical disabilities, He definitely had no economic support.

But he refused to allow those ugly circumstances  to interfere with his expectations.

Daily, he went and sat  at the temple’s beautiful gate expecting handouts.

Can you relate to how disappointing some days were for him?

Let me explain to you what it was like to be disabled back then.

Disabled people were not free to join in public worship and were treated as despicables.

Hence our guy sat at the gate of the temple.

Though he was despised, rejected, and in dire straits, he  kept going to the beautiful gate.

His Persistence and perseverance paid off!

One day, he eventually received blessings beyond his wildest imaginations.

He was healed of his disabilities! And he went into the temple, jumping, leaping, and praising God.

Which reminds me of God’s Word in James 5:11 which says, “Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.”(KJV)

I am also reminded of what the Bible says in 1 Corinthians 10:13 that

“The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure.”

My earnest heartfelt prayer for you is that in this new month,  God will supernaturally intervene in your life.  So that you too will be liberated from all restrictions and you will rejoice again, in the matchless name of Jesus Christ.

#PrayerPoints4Today:

Don’t give up, keep declaring that God has swiftly intervened to transform your circumstances to glorify His name.

Can you think of a certain time in your life when you were treated with contempt, how did things  change for you?

You can send me an email to spiritualwarrior24@gmail.com

God bless you.

Shalom from Hephzibah Christly, Ph.D.,#TheSpiritualWarrior.

February 1st 2025.

AWESOME GOD (40) Showing His marvelous work.

Glory be to God. Today, our 40 days of spiritual exercises,  of fasting, prayers, Bible Reading and meditation on the Word, ends.

And what a glorious ending with Psalm 9:1 which says:

“I will praise thee, O LORD, with my whole heart; I will shew forth all thy marvellous works.” Psalm 9:1 KJV.

#Testimony :

It was a great ride, filled with health challenges and spiritual attacks. But God showed up strong for us.

The past 3 days were like , “God, I’m just tired of all these things going on around me, please help me”.

The Good News is that despite all the satanic antics to distract us, we were still able to accomplish our goals, and have come out with more zeal to do His will.

I am glad to inform you that we are going to be making YouTube videos that will bring home to you,  our teachings on deliverance, healings, spiritual growth etc.

As a trained Chaplain and Christian Spiritual Therapist, I give attention to details, and help you personalize your relationship with God,  through a daily faith-walk with Christ Jesus.

I do pray that reading all the contents I shared with you, has helped your faith to grow more, and has made you aspire to live a life that displays the awesomeness of God.

Always remember that you are bought with a price and that your life belongs to Christ who bought your liberty with His life, so that you can display the virtues and perfection of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light’ (Read 1 Peter 1:23, 2:9-10).

Going forward, never let anything the devil sends you hold you down.

As you accomplish your spiritual goals for life, you effectively incapacitate the devil, who is LIKE a roaring lion.

Aim at being that person who knows what is right to do, and does it.

We are not of them who shrink  back in fear and are destroyed  We are of them that pressforward, overtake and overcome all odds, by our faith in Christ (Read Hebrews 10:39, 1 John 3:8,4:4, 5:4)

God bless and keep you safe always, prosper your endeavors and help you to always draw strength from Him, in the matchless name of Jesus Christ.

Shalom from Hephzibah Christly, Ph.D., #TheSpiritualWarrior, January 9th 2025.
