Recently, as we prayed, we are being led to focus on an aspect of God’s essence in worshipful reverence.
Yesterday, our focus was on His faithfulness. I apologize for not writing down the revelations about His faithfulness.
I’m thankful that today, I can share these prayerful thoughts with you.
As my feet hit the floor of our bedroom, I heard a song in my spirit eulogizing the Goodness of God. And I knew that was my prayer-focus for the day! Hallelujah.
What is Goodness?
Goodness is that recognizable quality in the character and conduct of God that entitles Him to our worship.
#PrayerPoints4Today:
- Spend some time to review God’s goodness in your life and thank Him for it
Here are some reminders:
1a Although we live in a decadent world, He blesses our food and drinks and takes sicknesses away from us.
1b And even when we get sick because we live in a death-destined world, HE heals us.
1c Pause for a sec., and think of the numerous illnesses that are beyond medical sciences, and that you are not that victim.
Even if you are on meds, your situation is not hopeless, you are being healed!
Although the goodness of God may seem insignificant, it is a very important aspect of God’s character and conduct that stabilizes my Faith in Him.
The Collins Cobuild Advanced Learners Dictionary online describes Goodness as “the quality of being kind, helpful, and honest.” Which, to some extent describes our God, who, despite our many ‘fails’, still retains faith in us.
It is comforting to know in the inside of me that GOODNESS is WHO God is.
Our badness or evilness cannot change who HE is.
- As you are praying, remember to thank God for His protection, provisions and patience.
2a It is of His mercies that we are not destroyed by the evils in the world.
Personal Testimony:
A few nights ago, we forgot to shut our garage and the front door⁹, and went to bed. Although our neighborhood was all lit up, yet, God’s goodness protected us.
2b Think about how God’s goodness shields you from open shame, ridicule, great losses, etc.
Indeed, God is Good.
- The Bible says that “…as He is, so are we in this world” (1 John 4:17c)
3a Thank God for His grace at work in your life, enabling you to be as good as He is.
3b Declare also that from henceforth you will be blameless and upright, revere God, abstain from and shun evils.
3c Affirm that your walk will be consistent with your words and your conduct consistent with your confessions, in Jesus’s name.
I leave you with these scriptures to meditate on from James 1:17-21 KJV:
“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.
Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:
for the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God. Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.” James 1:17-21 KJV.
#MyPrayer4You:
Finally, I pray that the goodness of God that leads to repentance leads all who are not in Christ to make that commitment today.
I pray that surely, God’s goodness and mercy follows you all the days of your life, in the matchless name of Jesus Christ ♥️
