This was my first tornado experience, May 26th 2024

 I had an early night and woke up to the sound of both the tornado warning and  emergency alerts.

It was so surreal.

As we were watching the weather reports, lights flickered and went out.

From our phones, we heard the weatherman call out our street’s name, saying that the tornado was upon us!

We went into the bathtub with only duvets over our heads, and the weirdest sounds outside.

It was so eerie! 

Can you imagine a giant and another fat person trying to squat or huddle in a narrow bathtub?

As the tornado swung by in a drunken rage, it dropped a limb over our backyard, took out some shingles, and kicked over some flower pots that were on the ground, but left without touching all our outdoor hanging flower pots!

Ain’t that God!

We have these 3 trees that are taller than the electric poles.  If the tornado had tossed any of them, we would have become a statistical data!

But God…

However, as the tornado circled our neighborhood, it took out some trees and dropped them over cars, rooftops and powerlines. 

Then, it took out fences, overturned more waste bins, poured some rain into some houses, and went bye- bye!

We thank God for protection, preservation and safety.

Our prayers are for those who lost homes, businesses and personal properties.

We pray that God send them help speedily, in the matchless name of Jesus Christ.
